With more than 17 years of experience in the Portuguese market, Explorer Investments combines a deep Private Equity buyout knowledge with hands on management and a strong experience in Real Estate. Founded in 2003 by Rodrigo Guimarães and Elizabeth Rothfield it is the first independent private equity in Portugal.
The management of a diverse set of companies underpins an in-depth understanding of the Portuguese economy. Explorer currently manages and advises over €1.5bn in assets across four Business Areas: Real Estate, Tourism, Private Equity and Growth Capital.
Explorer has a relevant presence in the Portuguese real estate market since 2012, as investment advisor of the Discovery Portugal Real Estate Fund and Explorer Real Estate I, created in 2017 and as asset manager and co-investor of CPHP (Penha Longa), since December 2018.
An experienced Real Estate Team led by Pedro Seabra, Senior Partner and responsible for the Real Estate area since 2012, has the ability to unlock a strong pipeline of off-market deals and generate attractive returns. Explorer has a solid experience in planning and construction licensing procedures with very good access to decision makers.
