Refundos is a real estate asset, investment and fund manager, founded in 1993.
Since its establishment, Refundos accumulates track-record and capabilities in the acquisition, management and disposal of real estate assets across Portugal.
Refundos is a regulated platform, able to provide administration, management and representation of real estate vehicles as well as to advice relating to real estate investments or to structure and manage regulated funds, SICAFI´s (regulated companies) and SPVs.
Refundos’ principal activity is the management of Maxirent - Fundo De Investimento Imobiliário Fechado, a closed-end real estate investment fund listed on Euronext, Lisbon, underlined by a portfolio of 18 real estate assets.
Investors in Maxirent – and implicitly clients of Refundos – have historically included a mix of top-tier institutions including banks, pension funds and insurance companies, as well as retail investors.
In addition to its Maxirent-related activities, Refundos also advises a number of real estate strategies at asset-level, institutional investors (third-parties) in relation to the structuring, execution and management of their assets and broader investment programs in Portugal.
Acquired in 2019 by a combination of the Rivercrown Group (80%) and its management (20%), new Refundos shareholders intend to considerably increase assets under management.
Rivercrown is a pan-European real estate business services with two business lines: Principal Investment and Financial and Capital Markets Advisory.
Rivercrown originally entered the Portuguese market in 2016 through the acquisition of the local real estate finance business of Commerzbank AG. This included the management of its Portuguese loan book: €1.3 billion across 32 properties.
